Fero
Construction was formed in 1974 by Thomas J. Fero and Karen L. Fero.
Having moved from Illinois with a teaching degree and a union card in
construction, Tom decided building homes was what he wanted to do.
Starting out in the 70’s was a lot less complicated than building today,
after all of the new hurricane codes that where implemented after
Hurricane Andrew in 1992 that hit the Miami area and then after Hurricane
Charley that came right through Charlotte County August 13, 2004. Tom
started his building career with a 2 bedroom 2 bath spec house, doing most
of the work himself, including a tile roof. That home introduced Fero
Construction to the public – the quality workmanship and word of mouth
did the rest. Fero Construction’s 1st home was built in 1976-77
in Port Charlotte. Building his own personal homes provided Tom with a way
of expressing his talents as a carpenter/designer and his eye for detail.
During the 35 years Fero Construction has been in business, they have
built over 2,000 custom homes, 4 condominium projects, a medical facility,
duplexes and commercial office buildings. Fero Construction is a member of
the Charlotte – Desoto Builder’s Industry Association, National
Association of Home Builders, Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce, and
the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce. Thomas J Fero holds a Class A, State
Certified General Contractor’s License, which qualifies him to build
residential and commercial buildings throughout the State of Florida.
As
we look ahead to the future of Fero Construction, Inc. and Charlotte
County, we can only imagine the enormous possibilities. Charlotte County
is a wonderful place to raise a family, build a business, and enjoy
